She oversees over 90+ DTT TV channel portfolio, customer engagement and business relationships across East Africa.
Thijs is a senior leader with more than 25 years of experience in sales, commercial operations and customer relationship management in the digital media and broadcast industry. He joined Metrological in 2014, initiating and leading Metrological’s commercial expansion with MVPDs in the EMEA and APAC region.
Rhys has been a pivotal figure in establishing affordable DTH TV services across Africa over the past 13 years, leading start-up operations at GTV, AzamTV out of Dar es Salaam and KweséTV based in Johannesburg. He concentrates on commercialising start-up companies with a strong emphasis on sales and marketing excellence. Prior to moving into Media, Rhys held executive positions across Europe with renowned IT companies such as IBM and Groupe Bull, and also established his own international Go-To-Market advisory company with clients from the USA, Europe, Scandinavia, Asia, South America and Africa. He is a prominent speaker at Media conferences across the globe.
Ayanna Lonian is a Director of Content Acquisition and the Head of the Worldwide Major Studio Licensing & Strategy Team for Amazon.com’s Prime Video streaming, subscription on-demand (SVOD) video service. In this capacity, Ayanna leads a team of content acquisition executives which is responsible for negotiating global content licensing agreements with US major studios
and TV network groups to secure the SVOD streaming rights to popular TV series and movies which Amazon makes available on its Prime Video streaming service on a worldwide basis.
Elia holds a Bcom Honors Degree through Unisa. With over 20 years’ experience in the IT sector, he served in various roles at MTN’s Group Enterprise Business Unit (GEBU), which included two years as acting executive for GEBU before taking over as Executive for Global Sales, Wholesale, Central Roaming and Partnerships.His ability to communicate at all levels of an organisation combined with his technical knowledge, business ability and presentation skills saw him eventually take over as the Managing Director for MTN Namibia and Botswana in early 2017 to date.
Michael Maponga is an entrepreneur/actor/producer with 15+ years of experience in the film/TV industry. He worked internationally spanning from the US, Africa, Europe, and Asia. He was born in Zimbabwe and raised in Dallas, Texas, USA. Throughout his film/tv career, he noticed a void in African stories being distributed globally in mainstream media and those
highlighted were one-dimensional. He founded AfroLandTV to share with the world the amazing rich and diverse stories that are authentically told by Africans.
